1820 M. T. Cicerones Orations Quaedam Selectae Published by Exoniae Neo-Hant Impensis J. J. Williams I was unable to find another copy of this edition 7” x 4” x 1.5” The book is in poorish to fairish condition for 202 yrs old. The cover is very worn. The endpages & pages have discoloration. There is writing from former owners, & hinge paper separation. In 1850 this book was owned by John James Ingalls. His son named Sheffield (also politician) signed as well as others. He joined anti-slavery forces & worked to make Kansas a free state. When Kansas was admitted to Union in 1861, became secretary of the first state Senate & state senator in 1862. John James Ingalls was a 2nd cousin of Charles Ingalls (father to Little House on the Prairie's Laura Ingalls Wilder). Cicero (106–43 BCE) Roman philosopher, politician, lawyer, orator, political theorist, consul, and constitutionalist. One of store Rome's greatest orators and prose stylists. Cicero's influence on the Latin language was immense.
